WE WILL's purpose is to access, educate, and inspire high-achieving but underserved young women about careers in law.

WE WILL hosts events during the fall and spring semesters that allow young women to meet accomplished female attorneys in the Houston legal community. In addition to one-on-one mentorship, the young women receive a copy of a selected book to inspire them to pursue a career in law, as well as information, resources, and contact information of the lawyers they met.

Many of these young women have never met a lawyer. The young women we serve are high-achieving students who primarily come from diverse backgrounds in economically disadvantaged parts of Houston.

These bright young women are talented future-leaders who have limited exposure to the legal profession, and may have never considered a career in law. Society needs lawyers from diverse backgrounds. In response to this need, WE WILL exists at the high school level to increase awareness of, and build interest in, careers in the legal profession.

In order to truly move the needle in diversifying the legal profession, WE WILL is the starting point, by addressing root causes of why some of these women are left out of the legal profession. By focusing our efforts on high-achieving young women, we are providing a positive interaction with diverse women lawyers, and setting the stage for future opportunity.
